The victim, Kolli Venkata Srinivasa Reddy, reported that an unidentified individual forcibly entered his residence during the early hours of June 18. At approximately 4:30 am, the intruder confronted the resident, physically pushing him onto a bed and issuing threats to secure compliance. During the encounter, the perpetrator successfully absconded with two gold rings weighing roughly 16 grams, valued at approximately ₹2.4 lakh, along with a Samsung mobile device.
Swift Police Action and Investigation Results
Following the formal complaint filed by the victim, local police initiated a comprehensive investigation. The case was managed under the direct oversight of Tenali Rural Circle Inspector S.K. Nayab Rasool. A specialized team, spearheaded by Sub-Inspector N.C. Prasad, conducted a thorough analysis of both digital evidence and local CCTV footage to track the perpetrator's movements.
These investigative efforts led the team to identify the primary suspect as Pagadam Umashankar Reddy, a resident of Rambhotlavaripalem village located in the Bapatla district. On Saturday, police successfully located and arrested the accused individual near Vallabhapuram. Upon apprehension, officers recovered the stolen gold items. Following the arrest, the suspect was presented before the court and subsequently remanded to judicial custody to await further legal proceedings.
