UP Govt Boosts Scholarship for Class 9 & 10 Students Ahead of Holi

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a significant increase in the scholarship amount for students in grades 9 and 10, bringing in newsworthy improvements in education and accessibility.
Previously, the scholarship amount for students in grades 9 and 10 was ₹2,250. The state government has now approved a generous increase to ₹3,000. This move is expected to benefit almost 3.8 million students, enhancing their access to education.
This scholarship is particularly significant as it is the first instance in the state’s history where the benefits have not been limited. The state’s Ministry of Backward Classes Welfare and Disability Empowerment has welcomed the decision. Minister Narendra Kashyap highlighted that the improvement serves the best interest of economically disadvantaged students and their families.
The administration has also revised the disability pension scheme, increasing the monthly pension amount from ₹1,000 to ₹1,500, marking a substantial improvement in welfare for persons with disabilities.
