A tragic road accident occurred shortly after midnight on Sunday near Udumvaripalle, located in the Pullampet mandal of Tirupati district. The collision involved a super luxury bus traveling from Tirupati to Kadapa and a lorry approaching from the opposite direction, resulting in a devastating head-on crash.

Authorities confirmed that two individuals lost their lives in the incident. Among the deceased was a nine-month-old infant identified as Puneeth Sai, who sadly passed away at the scene. Additionally, 16-year-old K. Jaswika from Srikalahasti succumbed to her severe injuries while being transported to the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Kadapa.

Impact of the Road Accident in Tirupati District

The severity of the impact left at least 16 other passengers with significant injuries. Eyewitness accounts described a horrific scene, with some victims suffering catastrophic trauma and limb loss. Emergency response teams and local police arrived promptly at the site to conduct rescue operations and provide immediate aid to the survivors.

The injured were rushed to the RIMS hospital using 108 ambulances. Medical officials have noted that the condition of several hospitalized passengers remains critical as they undergo urgent treatment. Kadapa municipal commissioner H.S. Expressing deep grief over the tragedy, the transport minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy offered his condolences to the affected families. Furthermore, the minister stated that authorities would implement stricter measures to enhance safety and prevent such tragic vehicular collisions from occurring in the future.
