Incidents and Regulatory Enforcement Across the State
In an unrelated incident in Kapra, a parking dispute involving a local shop took a violent turn, leading to an assault on a couple. The local Kushaiguda police have registered cases against a father and son duo, Subba Rao and Arjun. The victims, Narasimha Rao and his wife, were attacked with a cement stone and a stick after raising objections regarding the placement of a scooter near a construction site. The injured individual was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical care.
Meanwhile, authorities in Telangana have intensified their focus on public safety and order, particularly regarding anti-drug awareness initiatives ahead of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. Various law enforcement units, including the Cyberabad commissionerate and Nampally police, conducted educational seminars targeting youth and professionals. In Medak, the police organized a cricket tournament to promote a healthy, substance-free lifestyle among the youth, emphasizing sports over drug use.
Furthermore, in a significant crackdown on public safety and order, the Karimnagar police registered criminal cases against seven private security agencies. These organizations were found to be operating without valid licenses, in direct violation of the Private Security Agencies Regulation Act (PSARA). Commissioner Gaush Alam confirmed that cases were filed under BNS Section 318(4) along with provisions of the PSARA Act, 2005.
Intelligence and Security Wing (ISW) official V.B. Kamalasan Reddy warned that a statewide drive is underway to ensure compliance. The authorities emphasized that all security firms must obtain government-recognized licenses and ensure that their personnel undergo mandatory background verification and training. This regulatory push is designed to improve professionalism and accountability within the private security sector throughout the region.
