The confrontation between two brothers escalated into a fatal incident, highlighting the severity of interpersonal conflicts that can spiraling out of control over seemingly minor property disagreements.
Fatal Altercation Over Babul Tree
According to reports from local law enforcement, the incident occurred in Bhelkha village, falling under the jurisdiction of the Manjhanpur police station. Babbu Lal, a 50-year-old worker who had been employed at a brick kiln in Bihar, had reportedly returned to his ancestral home on Sunday. Upon his arrival, he discovered that his older brother, Raja, had unilaterally decided to cut down a babul tree that was considered family-owned property.
The discovery prompted a heated verbal argument between the siblings. As tensions mounted, the disagreement rapidly turned into a violent physical struggle. Police officials noted that during the course of this altercation, Raja allegedly assaulted Babbu Lal, ultimately pushing him with significant force. The impact of the fall proved devastating, as Babbu Lal hit his head against the leg of a nearby cot, sustaining severe and life-threatening injuries.
Following the injury, Babbu Lal was rushed to a private medical facility located at the district headquarters in a desperate bid to save his life. Tragically, despite the medical intervention, he succumbed to his injuries late on Sunday night. The loss has left the family in deep mourning and has sparked a serious criminal investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the babul tree dispute victim.
Ongoing Police Investigation
The authorities have initiated formal legal proceedings to address the situation. Circle Officer Shivank Singh confirmed that an official First Information Report (FIR) charging the accused with murder has been filed. The complaint was formally registered following a statement provided by Budli Devi, who is the daughter-in-law of the deceased.
At present, the accused, Raja, remains at large and is currently absconding from the village. Law enforcement agencies have mobilized dedicated police teams tasked with locating and apprehending the suspect to ensure he faces the judicial process. Investigations are continuing as authorities look into the broader context of the familial discord that led to such a lethal outcome. The case serves as a somber reminder of the potential consequences when domestic grievances are allowed to escalate into physical violence. Local police continue to gather evidence and conduct interviews to finalize the legal course of action against the perpetrator.
