HYDERABAD: In a significant step towards transforming Telangana into a digitally connected state, the government launched the ambitious T-Fiber project. This initiative aims to deliver high-speed broadband connectivity to every village and household through a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) established under the Amended BharatNet Program (ABP). The decision was finalized during a high-level video conference attended by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, State IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, and Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia.

Ring Architecture Network for Uninterrupted Connectivity

The T-Fiber project's key highlight is the implementation of a ring architecture network connecting every Gram Panchayat in the state, ensuring uninterrupted internet access by creating an alternative route for data traffic. This innovative system will prevent network downtime even if there are cable damages or network disruptions. The first phase focuses on restoring and strengthening internet connectivity in 3,089 villages located in erstwhile districts of Nizamabad, Ranga Reddy, and Khammam.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy discussed Telangana's digital roadmap with the Union Minister. They sought Centre's support on several critical issues, including speeding up implementation agreements, releasing pending central funds, utilizing the Digital Bharat Nidhi fund, and framing a clear policy for transferring network assets from Mandal to Gram Panchayat level.

Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia assured Telangana of full cooperation in resolving these issues and accelerating project rollout. Senior state officials also attended the meeting, underscoring the government's commitment to fast-tracking rural digitization across the state.
