Nalgonda: In an effort to address the perceived disarray over paddy procurement, irrigation and civil supplies minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has instructed opposition parties BRS and BJP, during a surprise inspection at Vangapally and Ramajipeta in Yadadri-Bhongir district, to abandon what he termed 'false propaganda'. These checks were conducted alongside revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and IT minister D. Sridhar Babu.

Addressing the media, Uttam Kumar Reddy highlighted that there was no pressure from BJP leaders at a state level regarding paddy procurement quotas. He emphasized, 'Farmers need not panic; every grain of paddy produced by them will be procured.' Additionally, he mentioned that even rain-soaked paddy would be included in the procurement process.

Boosting Farmers' Confidence

The state government is committed to supporting farmers through transparent and reliable procurement practices. To ensure payment efficiency, officials were directed to credit payments into farmers' bank accounts within 48 hours of purchase. Furthermore, temporary use of sand transport vehicles was authorized to expedite procured paddy movement to rice mills.

Meanwhile, Srinivas Reddy and D.Sridhar Babu assured that record production levels were expected in the current yasangi season, assuring farmers of Minimum Support Prices. Srinivas Reddy stated, 'Our priority is the welfare of farmers irrespective of what limits are fixed by the Centre.' This assurance seeks to protect farmers' interests during a critical agricultural period.

The comprehensive review meeting held at Bhongir's District Integrated Offices Complex also aimed to streamline procurement operations and address any logistical challenges.
