Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, is witnessing a significant upgrade in its education infrastructure with the launch of the Ambedkar Knowledge Centre at Dr B.R. Ambedkar Bhavan near Tank Bund. This project aims to provide students from Scheduled Castes (SC) and underprivileged backgrounds with state-of-the-art facilities and comprehensive support for academic advancement.
The initiative, costing Rs 50 crore, includes the development of a modern library, digital learning resources, e-library access, and coaching centers for various civil services exams. Students will also benefit from career counseling and skill development programs, helping them prepare for examinations such as Group Services, banking, SSC, and railway services.
Enhanced Facilities for Rural and Underprivileged Youth
The state's Social Welfare Minister Adluri Lakshman Kumar emphasized the project's alignment with Dr B.R. Ambedkar's vision of education as a tool for social change. The Knowledge Centre will serve to bridge the gap between urban and rural access to educational resources, ensuring that students from all corners of Telangana have equal opportunities.
Another focused initiative is the redevelopment of the Babu Jagjivan Ram Students' Hostel Complex at Nimboli Adda in Kachiguda. This project will significantly improve living conditions and academic spaces for students from different districts, aiming to provide a better learning environment for those pursuing higher education in Hyderabad.
Adluri Lakshman Kumar stated that the government was committed under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to build an inclusive educational ecosystem where merit is prioritized over socio-economic background. The Ambedkar Knowledge Centre and Nimboli Adda projects are part of this broader vision, ensuring that students from economically weaker backgrounds have access to quality education.
