This comprehensive operation targeted the manufacturing, movement, and retail of illicit liquor, non-duty-paid spirits, cannabis, and various narcotics.

The enforcement campaign was executed by specialized units, including the Special Task Force, various enforcement wings, and district-level teams. Beyond the hundreds of arrests, authorities successfully confiscated 119 vehicles utilized in the illicit trade. Combating Illicit Liquor and Revenue Loss

The Excise special drive was initiated under the guidance of enforcement director Avinash Mohanty, following directives from excise secretary Raghunandan Rao and excise commissioner C. Hari Kiran. A primary objective was to curtail the production and distribution of illicit country liquor, which authorities noted causes severe damage to state revenues.

The scale of the suppression was extensive. Officials seized 3,191 litres of country liquor and confiscated 8,377 kilograms of jaggery, while also destroying 64,435 litres of jaggery wash used in brewing operations. Regional data highlighted varying levels of activity; Warangal emerged as the hotspot for illicit liquor activity with 260 cases and 206 arrests. Other districts also saw heavy action, with Karimnagar, Nalgonda, and Adilabad reporting significant numbers of registered cases and detentions.

Furthermore, efforts to intercept non-duty-paid liquor across Telangana resulted in the seizure of 362.72 litres. Rangareddy district recorded the highest volume of these seizures at 206.56 litres, followed by Hyderabad and Medak. This large-scale operation underscores the state's firm commitment to dismantling organized illicit trade operations and maintaining public order through rigorous enforcement and monitoring across the region.
