The Telangana School Education Department has officially announced an opening for 202 teaching vacancies, inviting applications from qualified gazetted headmasters and school assistants. This recruitment drive aims to fill critical gaps in staff positions across DIETs, CTEs, IASE, and SCERT institutions, ensuring that teacher education programs continue to operate effectively without disruption. The selection process for these roles will involve a comprehensive evaluation through a computer-based test, followed by an interview and a demonstration.
Recruitment Details and Application Timeline
Prospective applicants are required to submit their applications between July 4 and July 14. For those who may need to rectify any errors in their submissions, the authorities have designated July 17 as the formal correction window. Once the application process concludes, the computer-based test is scheduled to take place in Hyderabad from July 25 through July 31. This initial assessment will be followed by interview sessions and teaching demonstrations occurring from August 6 to August 8, with official deputation orders expected to be issued by August 10.
The vacancies are distributed across several educational bodies: 131 positions within the 10 DIET centers, 36 roles spread across three CTEs, 17 spots at IASE in Masab Tank, and 18 positions at SCERT. These appointments are designed as stop-gap measures to address the ongoing shortage of lecturers in teacher training courses.
Eligibility and Assessment Criteria
To be eligible, candidates must currently serve as gazetted headmasters or school assistants within government or local-body schools. Applicants must be under the age of 58 as of June 30 and possess a minimum of five years of qualifying service. Each test session carries an application fee of ₹500. Regarding the assessment format, the computer-based test will consist of 80 multiple-choice questions totaling 80 marks, with a two-hour duration and no penalty for incorrect answers.
The final selection process includes a 20-mark evaluation consisting of an interview and a teaching demonstration. Candidates will be shortlisted based on a ratio of 1:3. Those selected will serve under foreign service terms and conditions for a period of one year, or until regular permanent appointments are finalized. During this period, the teachers will maintain their existing pay structure, though they are ineligible to claim seniority or regularization based on this temporary deputation.
