Hyderabad: A Sudanese national, identified with a high body temperature, was admitted to the isolation ward at Gandhi General Hospital in Secunderabad following an Ebola screening during thermal scanning at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) on Thursday morning.

The traveler, likely over 35 years old and recently arrived from Sudan, registered a temperature of 100°F. Due to his travel history, authorities placed him under observation and initiated testing procedures in accordance with established protocols.

Medical Investigation and Procedural Details

Epidemiologists at the hospital are closely monitoring the traveler for any Ebola-related symptoms such as nausea or diarrhea. However, speaking to media, Dr. Vamshi noted that 'the patient currently doesn't exhibit typical signs of the disease.' He further elaborated that samples will be sent to government-designated labs for full analysis.

Government agencies are collaborating to obtain detailed medical and travel history from the individual who does not speak English fluently, arranging translation assistance as needed.

If initial test results are negative, health authorities plan to advise home isolation. An Ebola infection would necessitate prompt treatment in line with protocol guidelines.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha reported that 58 travelers from Ebola-affected areas had entered Hyderabad recently; all were under surveillance and placed on a 21-day home quarantine as a precautionary measure.
