A tragic incident unfolded on a Friday morning when part of an under-construction bridge partially collapsed due to a storm, leading to the deaths of six labourers in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The collapse occurred around 3 am between Parsani and Kandaur villages, as construction workers slumbered on the upper portion of a construction slab.
The deceased included young and experienced workers: Lokendra (22), Kuldeep Nishad (19), Sabhajeet (30), Pushpendra Chauhan (34), and Rajesh Pal (42). According to local officials, three labourers managed to escape from the rubble, while three were trapped under a bridge pillar and had been swiftly rescued by emergency services. The injured were promptly transferred to Hamirpur's district hospital for immediate treatment.

Station House Officer (SHO) Rajesh Kumar Saroj from Lalpura police station provided an update: "Bodies have been sent for further postmortem investigation, while removal operations are ongoing to prevent any additional incidents." This detailed forensic examination is critical in understanding the precise causes of the collapse and ensuring such tragic events don't recur.
"The bridge construction had only just begun; these young men were simply doing their job but fell victim to nature's wrath," stated a community leader who watched over their work.
