Hyderabad: In a significant development, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has issued a notice to Mahbubnagar MLA, Srinivas Reddy, in connection with an alleged case of unauthorized phone tapping. The notice, which falls under Section 160 CrPC, was delivered by SIT Investigating Officer P. Venkatagiri, Assistant Commissioner of Police. This move comes as a follow-up to a previous notification issued on July 7, 2025.

The latest communication has been treated as the second notice. According to the officer's statement, the ongoing investigation revealed that Srinivas Reddy was acquainted with relevant details of the case and he is now required to appear before the SIT for examination. The MLA has been directed to present himself at 11 am on Monday at the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC), located within the Commissioner's Office, for questioning as part of the probe.

Earlier this year, Srinivas Reddy had filed a complaint with the then city police commissioner, Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy, alleging that his phone had been tapped during the tenure of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi government.
