Authorities have launched a comprehensive investigation after a silver crown was reported stolen from the revered Basar Saraswati temple. The daring heist, which took place at the Mahankali shrine situated on the first floor of the temple complex, is believed to have occurred during the early hours of Monday night. Local law enforcement officials confirmed the breach after being alerted by temple staff.
Upon arriving to conduct the morning rituals on Tuesday, the priest, Srinivas, discovered the forced entry and the absence of the sacred ornament. The perpetrators also targeted the temple hundi, which was subsequently recovered in an empty state near the Vedavyasa temple within the same vicinity. While the silver crown was taken, it is noteworthy that other precious items, specifically the gold ornaments belonging to the deity, remained untouched.
Security Breach Investigation at Basar Saraswati Temple

Investigators noted that at least three CCTV cameras in the immediate vicinity of the Mahankali shrine had been obscured with cloth.
