As March nears its midpoint, the summer heat is intensifying in several parts of the country, leaving residents drenched and craving respite.
However, a surprising phenomenon persists in the Himalayan regions—fresh snow continues to blanket the mountain peaks, bucking the usual summer transition. These regions continue to experience cooler temperatures, a stark contrast to the sweltering heat gripping much of the northern and eastern states.
Meanwhile, in the megapolis of Delhi, the scorching sun is already having residents sweating, with predictions of a scorching March 13 and a record-breaking maximum temperature of 36°C. In contrast, parts of South India are enjoying the cooling effect of rainfall, making the weather more pleasant.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued rain alerts for various regions, indicating an interesting weather forecast ahead. The northeastern states, including Assam and Meghalaya, are preparing for heavy and isolated rain on March 13, while Bihar, Jharkhand, and Coastal West Bengal may also see showers. Additionally, a spell of rainfall is expected in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim between March 12 and 16, along with a possibility of thunderstorms and strong winds accompanying the showers.
The IMD also highlighted the potential for thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds in regions like Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, and Uttarakhand, where wind speeds are expected to range between 30 to 50 kilometers per hour.
This comprehensive weather advisory is crucial for travelers, farmers, and businesses operating across the country, ensuring they are prepared for the varied and challenging conditions ahead.
