Salman Khan To Move From Iconic Galaxy Apartments After 50 Years

Renowned Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is preparing to relocate from his long-standing residence, Galaxy Apartments, marking the end of a fifty-year era in Bandra. While the actor has frequently expressed a deep emotional connection to the iconic ground-floor property where he spent his formative years, his family is moving forward with plans for a sophisticated new dwelling.

The transition follows approval from the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) on June 16, 2026. This development allows for the construction of a new multi-story residential building located on Chimbai Road in Bandra West. The decision to accelerate these construction plans reportedly stems from significant security concerns, specifically following an incident involving gunfire outside the Galaxy Apartments premises in April 2024. The new location, while only a short distance from his current home, is situated in a quieter lane, offering enhanced privacy and more robust security infrastructure for Salman Khan and his family.

Modern Living and Infrastructure Plans

The proposed residence occupies a 4,000-square-foot, sea-facing site that was previously home to two older cottages known as Belle Mar and Belle Vue. These were acquired by Salim and Salma Khan back in 2011 for an investment of Rs 14.4 crore. The development project, overseen by Sach Developers, includes plans approved by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for a structure spanning 1,014 square metres. Notably, the design features a double-basement facility specifically engineered to house up to 15 vehicles.

Despite the move, it remains uncertain whether Salman Khan will permanently relinquish his 1-BHK apartment in Galaxy Apartments. He has previously characterized the residence as too small to accommodate his family's growing needs, famously noting a lack of storage space for his personal belongings. As he prepares to transition to this new estate, the actor continues to balance his personal life with a demanding professional schedule.

Upcoming Film Ventures

Beyond his residential shift, Salman Khan is currently focused on an ambitious upcoming project directed by Vamshi Paidipally. Producer Dil Raju has indicated that this action-oriented entertainer, which also features Nayanthara, will showcase the actor in various distinct avatars. Currently in the production phase, the film is expected to conclude shooting by October, with a theatrical debut targeted for 2027. Insiders suggest that Salman Khan is dedicated to the role, undergoing significant transformations through makeup and prosthetics to provide audiences with a fresh and immersive visual experience in this highly anticipated collaboration.
