Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed urgent land acquisition for all major irrigation projects in the undivided Mahabubnagar district, underlining that this is essential for transforming drought-prone regions like Palamuru. Accompanied by key ministers, he inspected ongoing works and emphasized expediting land acquisitions and relief rehabilitation measures.

Urgency of Land Acquisition

The Chief Minister highlighted the critical role of completing land acquisition in a 'war footing' to meet project deadlines for irrigation schemes aimed at converting Palamuru into an agricultural hotspot. He assured officials that funds would be readily available whenever needed and instructed district collectors to coordinate closely with local lawmakers to swiftly address R&R issues.

At the review meeting, Reddy personally directed field-level oversight of land acquisition processes, emphasizing that project progress hinges on this component's completion. The irrigation minister, Uttam Kumar Reddy, assured top priority for land acquisition in key projects like Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme, ensuring civil construction only begins post-land acquisition.

Notable progress includes Narlapur Reservoir's 100% completion, Yedula and Vattem reservoirs nearing 95% and 85% completion respectively, with Karivena Reservoir making significant advances. Focus on trunk infrastructure would yield maximum benefits, underscoring the need for well-planned work execution.

Uttam Kumar Reddy directed officials to prioritize court cases to vacate project stays and prepare realistic work plans aligned with financial timelines. These directives ensure that resources are efficiently allocated in a phased manner, aligning seamlessly with deadlines set by the government.
