Rajinikanth's Next Film Officially Titled Dharman: The Deadly Doctor

The long-standing suspense surrounding Rajinikanth’s upcoming cinematic venture has finally lifted, as the official title for Thalaivar 173 has been revealed. The highly anticipated project is officially titled Dharman: The Deadly Doctor, with the production team unveiling the first-look poster to the public. The film’s formal launch occurred during a private pooja ceremony this past Wednesday, an event characterized by its discreet nature.

During the launch, Rajinikanth delivered a candid and somewhat light-hearted address that captured the attention of those present. He touched upon the intense scrutiny he faces regarding his public statements. Rajinikanth remarked that when he chooses to speak, it often leads to complications for both himself and his audience, yet when he remains silent, critics frequently question his stance. He reflected on the reality of public perception, noting that it is ultimately futile to expect everyone to appreciate his actions, as those who harbor dislike will find fault regardless of his behavior.

Although the superstar did not explicitly address recent media reports regarding his failure to publicly wish Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay on his birthday, he clarified during the event that he had privately extended his best wishes. The project, Dharman: The Deadly Doctor, is produced by Kamal Haasan’s esteemed production house, Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI). The film will be directed by Ashwath Marimuthu.

Interestingly, Rajinikanth disclosed that Ashwath Marimuthu is the fourth director to be associated with the project during its development phase. The creative journey of the film saw initial involvement from Ravikumar, followed by Sundar C and Cibi Chakravarthy, before finally settling on Ashwath Marimuthu. Rajinikanth expressed his confidence in the director while noting that Kamal Haasan had graciously delegated the creative decision-making to him, a responsibility that initially left the actor feeling somewhat overwhelmed.

Rajinikanth also took a moment to reflect on his enduring friendship with Kamal Haasan, dating back to 1975. He recalled that when he was a newcomer, Kamal Haasan was already a major star who actively supported his early career. Rajinikanth credited Kamal Haasan for helping him secure a role in the film Ilamai Oonjalaadugirathu, which was originally intended for another actor. The film features Simran, who reunites with Rajinikanth following their previous collaboration in Petta, alongside Raashii Khanna in the cast.
