The National Testing Agency (NTA) is overseeing the logistics for this crucial re-test. Officials have confirmed that comprehensive measures are in place to ensure a secure environment. A nationwide mock drill was conducted on Saturday to verify systems, while security protocols at the NTA headquarters in the national capital have been significantly tightened. To maintain the sanctity of the examination, district administrations, local police forces, and specialized escort teams have been tasked with the secure transport and handling of all confidential materials.
Logistical Preparations and Exam Guidelines
The NEET-UG re-exam, which follows the cancellation of the original test roughly seven weeks ago, is set to host over 22.79 lakh medical candidates. The assessment will be conducted between 2:00 pm and 5:15 pm across 551 cities within India and 14 international locations. For candidates with disabilities who are eligible for compensatory time, the examination period extends until 6:20 pm.
The NTA has issued strict directives regarding reporting times, noting that examination centers will open their doors for candidates between 11:00 am and 1:30 pm. A strict policy is in effect for latecomers: entry gates will close precisely at 1:30 pm, and no individual will be permitted access under any circumstances thereafter. These stringent rules are designed to prevent the types of disruptions that previously marred the examination process, aiming to provide a fair platform for every student striving for a medical career.
