In a significant political development in Chennai, over 5,000 individuals officially transitioned to the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). This mass induction took place under the guidance of former AIADMK minister Benjamin, during a formal ceremony hosted at Sri Vaaru Marriage Hall located in Vanagaram. The event was marked by the presence of high-ranking party officials, including DMK MLAs, MPs, various district secretaries, and prominent office-bearers, highlighting the importance of this political shift.
The primary focus of this DMK membership drive was centered around strengthening the party's foundation ahead of future electoral challenges. DMK President and former Chief Minister M.K. Stalin attended the event to welcome the new members into the fold. Strengthening the DMK Ahead of Assembly Elections

Reflecting on the legacy of the organization, Stalin noted that the DMK has now completed 75 years of history, having secured power in Tamil Nadu six times, which has been instrumental in the state's long-term development.
