Over 3.45 Crore Jobs Created Under Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana

A significant milestone in the nation's workforce development has been highlighted by Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy. Speaking in Hyderabad on Friday, the minister announced that more than 3.45 crore individuals within the 18 to 28 age demographic successfully integrated into the formal labor market between April 2020 and 2025 under the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PMVBRY).

Impact of the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana

The Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana is designed to bolster employment generation by supporting first-time entrants into the organized sector. The program assists these new workers in developing essential professional skills and adjusting to various workplace environments. With a substantial financial outlay of ₹99,446 crore, the initiative aims to facilitate over 3.5 crore job opportunities within a two-year timeframe. A key feature of this support includes a one-time financial incentive of up to ₹15,000 provided to first-time employees.

During a program at RTC Kala Bhavan, where an address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was streamed, the minister noted that approximately 80 lakh young people enter the country's workforce annually. The government has focused heavily on scaling up recruitment, with over 12 lakh appointment letters distributed to youths through various Rozgar Melas organized across the country. In the state of Telangana alone, more than 25,000 organizations have officially registered under the scheme, pledging their commitment to creating new employment avenues.

National Growth and Workforce Potential

Drawing on data from the National Career Service portal, G. Kishan Reddy emphasized that the private sector is projected to require the creation of over 3.43 crore jobs during the current financial year. Looking toward the future, it is estimated that by 2026, roughly 66 percent of all new entrants to the global workforce will originate from India.

Minister G. Kishan Reddy underscored that the true strength of a developed nation lies in its youth power and the quality of its human capital. While essential infrastructure sectors such as railways, roads, technology, and various industrial projects remain fundamental drivers of economic expansion, the minister asserted that the dedication and specialized skills of millions of workers are what truly propel national progress. By prioritizing the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, the government continues to invest in the potential of its citizens to ensure sustained economic development and industrial growth.
