The Nellore Urban Development Authority (NUDA) has officially commenced the formulation of a comprehensive 20-year master plan aimed at steering systematic development across its vast administrative jurisdiction. NUDA Chairman Kotamreddy Srinivasulu Reddy announced this ambitious long-term project on Tuesday, highlighting that the initiative is designed to encompass a total area of approximately 2,200 square kilometers.

This strategic master plan for urban growth is envisioned as a foundational blueprint to accommodate significant infrastructure requirements, future population increases, and organized urban expansion over the next two decades. By establishing a clear developmental framework now, authorities aim to prevent haphazard growth and ensure that necessary public amenities keep pace with the region's evolving needs.

Strategic Vision and Stakeholder Consultation

To ensure the plan is both inclusive and practical, the authority has initiated a series of stakeholder consultation meetings. These sessions are being facilitated by RV Associates to gather essential input from various representatives. NUDA Vice-Chairman M. Venkateswarlu played an active role in the initial proceedings, participating via a video conference session.

The current phase of this planning exercise specifically prioritizes engagement for three of the 23 mandals that fall under the broader jurisdiction of NUDA. Official representatives have emphasized that the planning process involves meticulous, detailed mapping of the entire region. This mapping effort covers a diverse range of critical elements, including existing road networks, residential zones, established commercial centers, and vital business districts.

Furthermore, significant attention is being directed toward identifying and protecting environmentally sensitive areas and local water bodies to ensure sustainable growth. Chairman Kotamreddy Srinivasulu Reddy stressed that the final document will be refined only after incorporating constructive suggestions from local MLAs and other key stakeholders who understand the grassroots requirements of the region.

The authority is placing a special focus on the Nellore Rural, Buchireddypalem, and Kavali mandals during this phase of the study. Local officials have been directed to identify all major development projects within the specified area to ensure they are properly integrated into the comprehensive 20-year master plan. This proactive coordination is intended to align individual projects with the long-term vision for the territory. As the project moves forward, the administration remains committed to creating a structured and efficient roadmap for the future landscape of the region.
