The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the results for the CUET-UG 2026 examination. This year's assessment saw a significant improvement in administrative efficiency, with the testing body successfully streamlining its processes to release the final scores just 16 days after the conclusion of the exams. This represents a notable 14-day reduction in the timeline compared to the previous cycle, marking a major milestone for the CUET-UG 2026 evaluation process.
Performance and Statistical Breakdown
According to the official data, a top female candidate emerged as the topper with an impressive score of 1,232.19, slightly edging out the top male candidate who secured 1,230.82. The CUET-UG 2026 results also highlighted widespread high achievement among the student body. Remarkably, one individual attained a 100 percentile in four out of five chosen subjects, while 22 students achieved a perfect 100 percentile in three subjects. Additionally, 180 candidates secured 100 percentile in two subjects, and 3,214 students hit the 100 percentile mark in at least one subject.
The exam attracted a massive turnout, with 15,68,867 unique applicants registering for the test. Of these, 11,64,098 candidates actually appeared for the examination. The gender-wise breakdown indicates a balanced participation, featuring 5,78,500 male, 5,85,596 female, and two third-gender students. The diversity of the applicant pool also reflects a broad reach across various demographics, including 6,86,419 General category candidates and over 5.28 lakh students from the OBC (Non-creamy layer) bracket, along with significant representation from SC, ST, and EWS categories.
Exam Logistics and Scope
The CUET-UG 2026 was conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) format spanning 321 cities, which included 13 international locations to accommodate students outside of India. Candidates were offered a comprehensive selection of 37 subjects, consisting of 13 languages, 23 domain-specific subjects, and a General Aptitude Test, with participants permitted to select up to five subjects.
Conducted in phases from May 11 to May 31 and June 6 to June 7, the examination is the primary gateway for undergraduate admissions into various central, state, and private universities across the nation. The NTA confirmed that these final results were generated after a thorough review of the answer keys by subject matter experts. Students can now access their individual scorecards by logging into the official portal using their unique application credentials.
