Authorities in Kakinada report that there remains no breakthrough in the ongoing search for a two-and-a-half-year-old girl who went missing from Ch Agraharam village in Tuni Rural mandal. Despite ten days of extensive and relentless search operations, the toddler has not yet been located.

Kakinada Superintendent of Police (SP) G. Bindu Madhav conducted a site visit to the palm oil plantation where the family resides to engage with the parents and assess the situation firsthand. During his media briefing, the SP explained that the child was last seen around 11:50 am on June 6, shortly after she stepped out of her home attempting to find her father, accompanied by the family’s pet dog.

Advanced Search Operations and Investigation Efforts

The Tuni Rural Police were notified of the disappearance at approximately 8:30 pm on that same day. Since then, a massive, coordinated search effort has been mobilized, involving nearly 400 personnel from the state police department, forest department, as well as both state and national disaster response forces.

Investigators are employing a multi-pronged strategy to track the child, utilizing sophisticated technical resources. The search scope includes the analysis of drone footage, thermal imaging, call data records (CDR), Internet protocol detail records, and tower dump analysis. Additionally, law enforcement has scrutinized CCTV footage from the surrounding vicinity and conducted thorough inquiries with local RTC bus operators and motorists who traversed the area on the day the incident occurred.

Currently, the investigation team is examining various possibilities, such as whether the child wandered into the dense forest terrain—which spans 10 to 20 kilometers around the plantation—or if she was potentially intercepted by a passer-by. However, SP G. Bindu Madhav clarified that there is currently no evidence to suggest a planned kidnapping took place.

Community Appeals and Additional Developments

In a bid to expedite the case, the police department has announced a financial reward of Rs 1 lakh for any individual who provides credible information leading to the girl’s recovery. Authorities have strongly urged the public and media to refrain from spreading unverified information.

Regarding the death of the family’s pet dog, which was with the child when she vanished, the SP noted that the animal returned home after wandering in high temperatures for three days. While preliminary observations suggest the dog succumbed to dehydration, tissue samples have been forwarded to a laboratory in Visakhapatnam for formal testing. Furthermore, personnel from the forest department have confirmed that there are no signs of wild animal activity in the search zone.
