The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced a significant price hike for its FASTag annual pass starting April 1st, marking the new fiscal year 2026-27. The fee increase will apply to all non-commercial vehicles including cars, jeeps, and vans.

In an effort to reduce frequent toll payments and promote digital collection of fees through FASTags, NHAI has set the cost at Rs 3,075 for the financial year ahead, up from Rs 3,000. This move is aimed at easing the burden on users while enhancing travel experiences on national highways.

As of now, over 56 lakh private vehicle owners are using this pass to access toll gates on highways without needing to reload their tags, which can be renewed as needed each year. NHAI has set up nearly 1,150 toll plazas and national expressways for convenient acquisition of the annual pass via the official website or mobile app.

The initiative is particularly beneficial for regular commuters who often travel between cities or towns on non-commercial vehicles like sedans, SUVs, and vans. With this affordable option, trips across various national highways can be managed more efficiently and cost-effectively without worrying about repeated toll payments each time.
