The Indian Railways has unveiled the comprehensive schedule for the Dhanbad-Pottan, an all-new Amrit Bharat Express to cater to the needs of long-distance travelers. The train connects Dhanbad, in the eastern part of India, to South India's Pottanur, cutting travel time significantly from 45 hours and 45 minutes to 45 hours and 20 minutes round trip.
The train offers a comfortable travel experience with its 11 general coaches, 8 sleeper coaches, 1 pantry car, and 2 luggage-cum-disabled coaches. It also features modern facilities such as shock-free semi-automatic couplers, improved crash safety, CCTV cameras, LED lights, and mobile charging sockets to ensure passenger safety. A fire suppression system, an emergency talk-back system, and a better-braked system have also been installed.
The Amrit Bharat Express is a departure from the regular trains, which operate with average trains taking up to two hours longer, including the Ranchi-Godda Express, Vaanchal Express, Ranchi Dhanbad Intercity, Maurya Express, Bhopal-Dhanbad Express, Alleppey Express, Madar-Kolkata Express, and Ahmedabad-Kolkata Express. It promises to be the fastest of these with significantly reduced travel time, making it the preferred choice for long-distance travel, all without compromising on safety and comfort.
A reception for Amrit Bharat will be held at Dhanbad station on Friday, marking the launch of the train. Ticket booking for the Amrit Bharat Express has already begun, with regular train tickets for travel between Dhanbad and Pottanur starting March 21st.
