In a significant update regarding administrative efficiency, the Nellore district has reported a success rate of 87 percent in resolving citizen petitions filed through the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS). This progress was highlighted by the Municipal Administration minister, Dr. Ponguru Narayana, during the latest weekly forum proceedings.
During the session held at Tikkana Bhavan, Dr. Narayana collaborated with the district collector, Himanshu Shukla, to assess the current status of grievance disposal. The administration has been actively working to streamline these processes to ensure that citizens receive timely responses to their concerns. The minister emphasized that since the inauguration of the current coalition government, the district has processed a substantial number of submissions.
Data on Public Grievance Redressal Progress
According to the official figures provided, a total of 82,166 grievances have been lodged across the district. Out of this total, 71,549 petitions have been successfully addressed. A smaller segment of the population, totaling 5,384 petitioners, sought further assistance after expressing dissatisfaction with previous resolution attempts. Officials are now tasked with addressing these recurring concerns to improve overall satisfaction rates.
The nature of these complaints is diverse, though revenue-related matters constitute a large portion of the administrative workload. Approximately 57 percent of the submitted petitions involve complex revenue issues, including disputes over family property and conflicts regarding land boundaries. The administration has managed to resolve 84 percent of these specific cases, demonstrating a focused effort on clearing pending land-related files. This high resolution rate for land disputes is a key indicator of the current administration's commitment to tackling long-standing local issues.
