The Mulugu district has officially been recognized as a model region following its exceptional performance under Telangana’s 99-day Praja Palana initiative. This administrative endeavor, known as the Praja Palana–Pragathi Pranalika, has successfully streamlined governance, welfare distribution, and regional development, according to the special officer, Hanumanth K. Jandage.
During a high-level review meeting held at the collectorate conference hall, officials evaluated the substantial progress achieved over the three-month period. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between the state administration and the general public, fostering an environment of accountability and accessibility. Hanumanth K. Jandage emphasized that this successful framework should transition into a standard, ongoing administrative practice rather than being viewed as a temporary campaign.
Evaluating the Praja Palana Initiative Progress
District Collector Borkhade Hemant Sahadeorao, accompanied by Superintendent of Police Sudheer Ramnath Kekan, DFO Vikas Meena, and other key revenue officials, presented a comprehensive report detailing the achievements of the Praja Palana drive. The session focused on the resolution of land-related grievances submitted through Prajavani sessions and village-level Gram Sabhas, alongside the rapid processing of official files.
The administrative report highlighted significant improvements across various sectors, including local sanitation, public health services, and the implementation of various state welfare schemes. The Mulugu district administration was specifically lauded for its collaborative efforts, which significantly improved service delivery to citizens. Furthermore, the district has successfully integrated technology-driven training and educational festivals to empower the local population.
The impact of the Praja Palana initiative extended to vital social sectors as well. The women and child welfare department conducted various child-focused Gram Sabhas to combat social issues like child marriage, while the Mahila Shakti program saw active participation. Additionally, progress was reviewed regarding critical infrastructure goals, such as providing electricity to Anganwadi centers, identifying eligible farmers for oil palm cultivation, and preparing educational institutions for the upcoming academic year.
Officials also reviewed the rollout of major social security schemes, including Indiramma housing, Mahalakshmi, and Cheyutha, alongside the issuance of new ration cards. A final, comprehensive report documenting these successes is being prepared for submission to the Telangana state government. Hanumanth K. Jandage expressed confidence that the strategies employed in Mulugu serve as a scalable blueprint, offering a model that can be effectively replicated in other districts across the state to enhance governance efficiency.
