Negotiating traffic in the scorching heat of the National Capital Region (NCR) just got a bit easier for commuters. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has introduced 10 extra train services on the Namo Bharat Corridor, bringing the total to 18 during peak hours.

Enhanced Train Services for Peak Commute

The new schedule now includes additional services from 7 am to 11:30 am in the morning and 5 pm to 8:30 pm in the evening. This move follows an earlier addition of eight train trips last week, indicating a proactive approach towards improving commuting conditions for daily travelers.

Commenting on this strategic decision, Puneet Vashisht, Public Relations Officer (CPRO) for the Delhi-Meerut Corridor of the NCRTC, highlighted that these expansions aim to provide greater convenience and reduce wait times for commuters. Passengers can now board one of 18 trains every hour during peak travel periods.

According to data from the NCRTC, around 100,000 passengers pass through this corridor daily. This significant number underscores the growing demand for public transport in NCR regions like Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut. Namo Bharat trains stand out with their air conditioning and speed which are providing a much-needed respite from the blazing heat.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also called on citizens to use public transportation more frequently. This initiative by NCRTC is seen as a step towards achieving that goal, offering commuters a safer, faster, and cooler alternative during peak hours.
