New Delhi is seeing a crucial transition in weather conditions as the month of March brings diverse experiences. While warmth is spreading across the plains, mountainous regions in Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir, and Uttarakhand are bracing for cold weather.

The coming few hours are especially challenging with heavy rain expected to further complicate situations in seven states, highlighted as Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and Punjab. The extreme weather conditions include winds up to 55 km/h and high probability of thunderstorms and lightning.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for these regions, detailing the forecast for each state. In Jammu and Kashmir, light to moderate rain is predicted from March 12th to March 17th. In Uttar Pradesh, rains are expected on March 15th and 16th, while moderate rain/snowfall is anticipated in Haryana and Ladakh. The IMD has also warned that thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds of up to 30-50 km/h might impact Uttarakhand region on March 15th.

Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh have been warned of heavy rain from March 14th to 16th, affecting these states directly. In Delhi, the Indian Meteorological Department predicts cloudy skies from the evening of March 12th with temperatures predicted to rise during the day, while winds will blow at a speed of 12 to 15 kilometers per hour.

Additionally, rainfall is expected in eastern and central India, including Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh from March 13th to 15th, western Madhya Pradesh on March 14th and 15th, eastern Madhya Pradesh on March 15th, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim from March 11th to 16th, and the Gangetic plains of West Bengal on March 11th, 15th, and 16th.
