A distinguished group of government officials, led by Human Resources Development Minister Nara Lokesh, is set to attend the traditional Eruvaka Pournami celebrations. This event, which marks the commencement of the Kharif agricultural season, will take place at the Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU), specifically at its Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS) located in Lam, near Guntur, this coming Monday.
The festivities are scheduled to commence at 9:00 a.m. with Dr. P.V. Satyanarayana, the Vice Chancellor of ANGRAU, presiding over the proceedings. The gathering highlights the Eruvaka Pournami festival, an ancient tradition observed during the full moon in the month of Jyeshtha. This celebration serves as a vital marker for the arrival of the monsoon season, underscoring the deep-rooted cultural and functional connection between the farming community and the natural world.
Significance of the Eruvaka Pournami Festival
The Eruvaka Pournami festival acts as a cultural bridge, honoring the start of critical agricultural operations.
