Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch its new micro-SUV, the Y43, in India. Set to challenge the dominant market presence of Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter, this vehicle promises to redefine affordability and comfort for middle-class families.

The Y43 benefits significantly from the ultra-low GST rate of 18%, making it one of the most affordable options in its segment. Maruti aims to create a robust, feature-packed SUV that blends the reliability of popular brands like Hyundai XCET with the safety and comfort of Tata Punch.

Powered by a new Z12E 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, the Y43 offers outstanding performance and economy for all-weather driving. The company also plans to offer customers a CNG variant for those who prioritize environment-friendly alternatives.

In terms of design, the Y43 boasts an SUV-inspired appearance, reaching heights of over 1.6 meters and widths of approximately 1.7 meters. Its spacious interior ensures ample legroom and headroom with a powerful 2.5-meter wheelbase. The new generation touchscreen infotainment system, wireless connectivity, and six airbags contribute to a comfortable and safe driving experience.

Maruti plans to launch the Y43 in early 2027 at an expected starting price of ₹5.25 lakh to ₹5.50 lakh, making it among the most affordable yet reliable SUVs for Indian consumers.

The introduction of the Maruti Y43 is part of a larger strategy by the company to diversify their product lineup and retain market share in the burgeoning micro-SUV segment.
