Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation Commissioner T Vinay Krishna Reddy recently spearheaded a detailed field inspection of several areas known for waterlogging. The primary objective of this exercise was to identify vulnerable points and implement immediate corrective measures to mitigate flooding risks across the region.
Enhancing Monsoon Preparedness and Drainage Infrastructure
During his visit on Saturday, the Commissioner inspected key locations within Keesara Circle-1. The itinerary included critical sites such as Laxmipuri Colony, SS Enclave, Employees Colony, Swandra in the Yapral Ward, and Balaji Nagar Main Road in Jawaharnagar. Additionally, the inspection covered the area situated opposite the dumping yard at Chandrapuri Colony to assess drainage connectivity.
To address potential water accumulation, T Vinay Krishna Reddy issued specific directives to municipal officials. Teams have been instructed to prioritize the cleaning of catchpits at Laxmipuri Colony, Employees Colony, and Balaji Nagar Main Road. Furthermore, to ensure the effective discharge of excess rainwater into Nagi Reddy Kunta, the Commissioner ordered the creation of an open trench at Swandra. These infrastructure improvements are vital to maintaining safe and uninterrupted stormwater flow during the upcoming monsoon season.
Beyond drainage maintenance, the Commissioner focused on broader civic responsibilities by holding a review meeting with contractors, builders, and representatives from the C&D Waste Processing Agency.
