The Government of India, through the initiative called Maiya Samman Yojana, is providing significant support to women by sending monthly disbursals directly into their bank accounts.

Under this scheme, the government aims to empower rural and semi-urban women across the country with financial assistance.

Starting from January 2024, the government will start disbursing 2500 Rupees in a single monthly installment into the bank accounts of eligible women. This is part of their broader goal to make women self-sufficient and active participants within their communities.

To boost these women's enterprises, especially those running small businesses, the scheme also includes providing up to 10,000 Rupees in loans without any collateral, starting from January 2023. The first installment of this was distributed during a joint meeting between state banks and government authorities.
