Under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the state government has made significant strides in addressing poverty and promoting all-round development across districts in Andhra Pradesh (AP). During his recent visit to Mahanadu, Industries Minister T.G. Bharath shared insights into the transformative efforts being made for Kurnool, a city that is witnessing unprecedented industrial growth and infrastructural advancements.
Kurnool's Industrial Landscape
The minister emphasized that Kurnool is on track to receive major industrial investments worth Rs 50,000 crore. This influx of capital aims to create numerous job opportunities and drive economic growth. Orvakal, a region in Kurnool, will be the focal point for these initiatives, with plans to establish key industries there.
These efforts are part of a broader strategy to uplift the standard of living for residents through welfare schemes. Bharath highlighted that pension distribution and the 'Talliki Vandanam' scheme have been providing significant benefits to locals. Additionally, Anna Canteens ensure affordable meal options for those in need, further bridging the gap between economic disparity.
Upgrading Healthcare Facilities
To provide better healthcare services, the government is aiming to transform Kurnool General Hospital into a corporate-standard facility. This initiative will directly benefit the poor, who often struggle with accessing quality medical care. Infrastructure improvements are also rapidly progressing across the city, including the installation of over 850 new electric poles and more than 40 transformers.
The minister assured that issues are being addressed in a timely manner to ensure smooth implementation of these projects.
