HYDERABAD: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was ordered to step down by BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, following a NEET exam paper leak scandal that left many students facing the cancellation of their exams and prospects of a second round. Rama Rao expressed grave concerns over the National Testing Agency's failure in conducting the examination properly.

Students' Plight

Rao, during an interaction with student exam participants who are now grappling with the consequences of this mishap, underlined that students must not give up. He encouraged them to prepare afresh for their upcoming exams, emphasizing the need for students to persevere regardless of government failures.

The public servant pointed out the lack of accountability within the system and called for the removal of Pradhan from his current position as a key deterrent in ensuring that such misconduct is not repeated. Rama stated, 'This leak is unacceptable, and if he [Pradhan] does not leave office and officials are not held accountable, this recklessness will continue to plague us.'

In his statement, Rao highlighted the critical need for strict action against all parties involved in the NEET exam's planning and execution. He argued that accountability must be enforced immediately to restore public trust and uphold the integrity of educational examinations.

Student Support

Ram Rao recognized the impact on students and offered counsel by advising them not to let mistakes affect their resolve. 'We are in this together with the government, and we must stand united. Keep your focus, stay positive, and take every step forward with resilience,'Rao concluded.

The minister continued by saying that a second round of NEET exams would be conducted to mitigate any further hardships on students affected by the leak scandal.
