Indian Railways Updates Train Boarding Rules for Passenger Convenience
Indian Railways has introduced a new rule allowing passengers to change train boarding stations up to 30 minutes before departure, bringing relief to millions of commuters across major cities.

Highlights
- •Passengers can now adjust their boarding station within 30 minutes before departure
- •Modified rule will benefit commuters from Noida, Greater Noida, Gurugram, and Faridabad
- •TTEs equipped with mobile apps for efficient communication regarding changes in boarding stations
Indian Railways has implemented a significant change in its train boarding rules, allowing passengers to make changes up to 30 minutes before departure.
This new rule will greatly benefit commuters from five cities in the National Capital Region (NCR) - Noida, Greater Noida, Gurugram, and Faridabad - as well as residents on the outskirts of major urban areas.
Advantages of the New Rule
The updated rule will enable passengers to adjust their boarding station according to their convenience. For instance, if someone is traveling from Greater Noida and needs to catch a train to Howrah but faces traffic congestion in reaching Delhi, they can switch their boarding station to Ghaziabad.
This change will not only aid those living outside of Delhi but also help residents on the outskirts of major cities, as similar situations frequently occur when trying to catch trains.
TTEs (Travelling Ticket Examiners) will be equipped with mobile apps to send messages to passengers regarding changes in their boarding stations. Passengers can then make necessary adjustments within the specified time frame.
