The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain and thunderstorm alert for nine states, including several hilly and northeastern regions, due to the impact of a Western Disturbance.
According to the IMD, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are likely to experience severe weather conditions, with Uttar Pradesh possibly witnessing light rain and snowfall at higher altitudes from March 8 to March 13. Additionally, light rain and thunderstorms are expected in parts of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
Delhi is expected to have clear skies with temperatures reaching up to 34 to 36 degrees Celsius today, before clouds are expected to move in on March 9. Meanwhile, the northeastern states and the northern hilly regions are bracing for heavy rainfall and occasional snowfall.
The IMD has also warned that these severe weather conditions may lead to landslides and flooding in the affected areas. Residents are advised to stay updated with local weather forecasts and prepare accordingly.
