Hyderabad: Online Option For Enumeration Form Submission Announced By ECI
The Election Commission of India has introduced an online submission facility for enumeration forms in Telangana starting June 25. Residents can now authenticate their voter data via Aadhaar on the official ECI portal, ensuring a smoother Special Intensive Revision process for 2026.

Highlights
- •The ECI is launching an online enumeration form submission facility in Telangana starting June 25.
- •Voters can use the Citizen Service Portal for SIR-2026 by using Aadhaar authentication.
- •Electronic submission requires a match between the voter's Aadhaar records and electoral roll data.
- •If records do not match, forms can be submitted manually through a family head to the BLO.
Residents of Hyderabad now have a streamlined method to participate in the upcoming enumeration drive. Starting June 25, the Election Commission of India (ECI) will roll out its enumeration phase across Telangana, introducing a convenient online option for enumeration form submission. This digital initiative is designed to simplify the data collection process, leveraging Aadhaar authentication to verify voter identity and ensure accuracy in the electoral rolls.
Digital Convenience for Voter Registration
The new online option for enumeration form submission is part of a broader effort to modernize electoral procedures. According to B. Chennaiah, the State Level Nodal Officer for Training, this portal is an essential resource for citizens who cannot participate in the physical enumeration process. Whether voters are traveling, working abroad, or simply unavailable at home during the official visit, they can now utilize the official Citizen Service Portal to complete their requirements.
To access this feature, voters should navigate to the ECI website and look for the SIR-2026 section. Upon selecting the option to fill the form, users will need to provide their mobile number or their EPIC (Electors Photo Identity Card) number. The process incorporates Aadhaar authentication, where a One-Time Password (OTP) is sent to the phone number linked to the voter’s Aadhaar card. This electronic signature verification confirms the submission, which is then immediately updated in the Booth Level Officer (BLO) application.
Ensuring Data Accuracy and Compliance
Authorities have emphasized that the success of this online option for enumeration form submission depends on data consistency. The system is configured to validate information against existing records; therefore, the voter’s name and details must match exactly between their Aadhaar profile and the electoral roll. If there is a discrepancy in the data, the automated system may not be able to detect the entry successfully.
For those encountering technical issues due to record mismatches, the commission has provided alternative guidance. In such circumstances, a family head or another adult member of the household is authorized to sign the document physically and hand it over directly to the BLO. This hybrid approach ensures that no eligible voter is excluded from the process due to minor administrative variations. The Telangana Press Academy recently hosted an awareness program to educate stakeholders on these Special Intensive Revision (SIR) protocols, highlighting the department's commitment to inclusive and efficient democratic participation.
