Aadhaar Card Update: The Aadhaar Card has become one of the most crucial documents in today's landscape. It is essential for various purposes, such as banking, government schemes, SIM cards, and passport applications. Even a minor error like an inaccurate or partially recorded father's name can lead to significant complications.
For instance, incorrect father's names on Aadhaar cards may create obstacles when applying for Personal Identification Number (PAN) cards, opening bank accounts, or obtaining passports. Fortunately, you can correct this error from the comfort of your home through a straightforward process.
How to Correct Father's Name on Aadhaar Card Online?
To begin, visit the official UIDAI (User ID Authentication Authority of India) website. Log in using your Aadhaar number. You will receive an One-Time Password (OTP) on your registered mobile number, which you need to enter to proceed.
Select "Update Demographics" or "Update Aadhaar Details." Navigate through the options available for updating various details and choose "Father's Name." Input the correct name. Then upload a valid document (such as an ID card or birth certificate) that contains your father's accurate name.
After accurately filling in all the information, submit the form. A Unique Registration Number (URN) will be generated, allowing you to track the status of your update online.
Offline Application Process
If you prefer not to proceed online, you can visit your nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra. There, fill out an application form, providing correct information. Submit the application along with required documents and complete biometric verification. You will then receive an Acknowledgment Slip containing your URN number, which is used to check the status of your update.
However, for both these methods, it is necessary that your mobile number is linked to Aadhaar.
