Boothpur: A Case Study of Record Rains
Boothpur in Mahbubnagar experienced a notable surge, recording 112 mm of rainfall. The deluge continued until Wednesday morning. Hyderabad, known for its high temperatures, witnessed a dramatic temperature reduction, plummeting from a scorching 42.2 degrees Celsius on Tuesday to a more comfortable 23 degrees Celsius by the next day.
Khammam, which had recorded an all-time high of 45.4 degrees Celsius on Tuesday morning, saw its daytime temperature drop astonishingly by nine degrees Celsius as of Wednesday morning, marking 36.4 degrees. Ramagundam experienced similar relief; it registered a steep decline from 45.2 degrees on Tuesday to a comfortable 28 degrees by the next day.
Local netizens seized the opportunity to capture the dramatic change in weather with selfies and social media posts, highlighting how much the atmosphere shifted overnight. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reports this reduction as part of the broader climate pattern affecting southern states.
