The Chida-Dahi Mahotsava, which is also recognized as the Danda Mahotsava, or the Festival of Punishment, holds deep spiritual importance. It serves as an annual commemoration of a historical pastime involving Sri Nityananda Prabhu and Srila Raghunatha Dasa Goswami. This event is observed on the thirteenth day of the bright moon during the month of Jyeshtha, which corresponds to the period between May and June.
Celebrating the Spirit of the Panihati Chida Dahi Festival
The day's festivities commenced early in the morning as the deities, Sri Sri Nitai Gauranga, were ceremoniously dressed in new garments, known as Navavastras.
