Chahat Bajpai, the district collector and special officer for the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC), recently directed local officials to prioritize the development of modern designs for city parks. During a high-level review meeting held at the Hanumakonda Collectorate, Chahat Bajpai met with municipal engineers and representatives from the World Resources Institute (WRI). The primary objective was to strategize on the comprehensive development of various urban spaces. By focusing on modern designs for city parks, the administration hopes to create versatile areas that cater to diverse public needs, ranging from recreational activities for children to peaceful green retreats for all residents.

The GWMC is looking to replicate the success of the Children’s Park at Balasamudram, which has served as a benchmark for local development projects. Having successfully integrated specialized design inputs from the World Resources Institute, this site is now viewed as a model for future upgrades. Chahat Bajpai emphasized that similar technical assistance should be utilized to revitalize other public areas, including Keerthinagar Park, as well as various anganwadi centers and municipal schools.
