This marks a notable adjustment from the previous day's closing price of Rs 153,899 per 10 grams, representing a reduction of Rs 1,261. Simultaneously, the silver market also faced downward pressure, with prices dropping by 1.91% to reach Rs 247,000 per kg.

According to data from the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) recorded at the close of trading on June 17, the rates for various purities were established as follows: 24-carat (999) gold was priced at Rs 150,148 per 10 grams, 23-carat (995) at Rs 149,547, 22-carat (916) at Rs 137,536, 18-carat (750) at Rs 112,611, and 14-carat (585) at Rs 87,837 per 10 grams.

Regional Price Variations for Gold

Retail gold prices continue to vary across different cities in India based on local market dynamics. In Delhi, Lucknow, Meerut, Ayodhya, Kanpur, and Ghaziabad, the rates for 24-carat gold stand at Rs 151,250 per 10 grams, with 22-carat and 18-carat gold priced at Rs 138,650 and Rs 113,470 respectively.

In contrast, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Patna report 24-carat gold at Rs 151,100, 22-carat at Rs 138,500, and 18-carat at Rs 113,320 per 10 grams. Chennai maintains a distinct pricing structure, with 24-carat gold reaching Rs 153,060, 22-carat at Rs 140,300, and 18-carat at Rs 117,500 per 10 grams. Investors are advised to verify these rates with local jewellers, as retail prices may incorporate additional charges beyond the base market value.
