Hyderabad, India – A couple from the Bhuvanagiri district who had been unable to conceive for nine years finally achieved their dream with a successful In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) treatment. On Wednesday, Ravi and Sowmya, a married couple from Bhuvanagiri district, gave birth to a healthy 4 kg baby boy at Gandhi Hospital. The success of the IVF attempt was shared on X by Telangana's Minister for Health, Medical & Family Welfare Damodara Raja Narasimha.
Gandhi Hospital's IVF Success: A Free-of-Cost Miracle
Prof. Shobha, the head of gynecology and in-charge superintendent at Gandhi Hospital, and Dr. Fatima Rani stated that Sowmya conceived successfully during her very first IVF attempt. Importantly, all services from the initial procedure to antenatal check-ups were provided entirely free of cost by Gandhi Hospital.
Ravi and Sowmya had previously sought treatment at various private fertility centers without success, where they underwent innumerable procedures including invitro insemination (OI) and intrauterine insemination (IUI), approximately 12 times. Their journey culminated in a successful IVF attempt after approaching the Gandhi Hospital's IVF center last year.
Superintendent Dr. Vani highlighted that while Ravi and Sowmya had previously spent lakhs of rupees at private hospitals, they received comprehensive treatment at Gandhi Hospital without any financial burden. On the 27th day of this month, Sowmya gave birth to a healthy baby boy in perfect health both for mother and child.
The facility's capabilities, which include sterile zones, an Embryo Laboratory, an Andrology Laboratory, and counseling rooms, have also been instrumental in the successful delivery. Gandhi Hospital has been delivering multiple babies since its inception in 2023, further emphasizing their commitment to reproductive health care.
For Ravi and Sowmya, this journey was not just a medical miracle but a personal triumph that marks joy and hope for millions grappling with infertility issues. The Gandhi Hospital's success exemplifies the potential of state-run facilities in providing top-tier healthcare at an affordable cost to all citizens.
