Exclusive: Monsoon Update Warns 18 States of Extreme Rainfall
The Meteorological Department has issued warnings for extreme rainfall across several states in India, including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir-Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh. Residents are advised to remain vigilant as heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected with thunderstorms accompanying the showers.

According to the Meteorological Department, a significant spell of rainfall is set to resume for several states. Heavy showers are expected in Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal (including Darjeeling and Kalimpong), Sikkim, and other parts of northern India during the next four days.
Residents of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan have been advised to remain vigilant as gusty winds and thunderstorms are expected in these regions. The Meteorological Department has also issued a warning for Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh, where heavy to very heavy rainfall is anticipated.
Isolated places across Uttarakhand may experience heavy to very heavy rainfall as well. Meanwhile, there will be scattered light rainfall in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan with thunderstorms accompanying the showers.
Hailstorms are expected in Western Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir-Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh on March 15 and 16. Gusty winds could reach speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour, making conditions dangerous during this period.
