The weather in the northern region of India is gearing up for a change, with heavy drizzle hitting several areas around Delhi-NCR. Heavy rainfall is expected across multiple states from March 31 onwards, which authorities have warned about.

Rainfall Predictions Across Northern India: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings of heavy rain and storms over the coming days. According to these predictions, a distinct change in weather is due on March 31, with drizzle likely during the day.

Rain and Storms Expected in Delhi

A IMD forecast suggests that light showers, thunderstorms, and winds of up to 40 kilometers per hour might hit parts of the region. These conditions are expected to bring some relief from the heat but will also result in a slight drop of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in temperatures over the next two days.

Weather Conditions in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand:

Light to moderate rainfall, coupled with strong winds, is anticipated across much of Uttar Pradesh. Some areas may also experience hailstorms due to thunderclouds rolling in. In the hilly regions of Uttarakhand, there's an alert for rain and snowfall, signaling potential disruptions to daily life.

Rainfall Outlook for Bihar and Jharkhand:

Severe weather conditions are expected. The IMD has warned about heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and hail in several parts of these states, with wind speeds up to 60 kilometers per hour possible. These harsh weather conditions can significantly disrupt daily activities and agriculture.

Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh:

Rain and strong winds are expected across areas like Madhya Pradesh and the Vidarbha region, where heavy rainfall is predicted. Meanwhile, thunderstorms and hail showers threaten other parts of Maharashtra with similar intensity.

South India Weather Update:

In South India, intermittent rains and lightning strikes are forecasted in states such as Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. A heavy rainfall alert has been issued for Kerala and Mahe, while coastal Karnataka can expect heavy downpours.

Higher Altitude Predictions:

Rainfall and stormy weather are expected in the higher regions of states like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. The possibility of thunder strikes is high due to this.

Commuters and residents across the affected regions should prepare by checking local weather updates and remaining cautious. Utility companies are also advised to ensure infrastructure readiness against potential disruptions caused by strong winds and fallen trees.
