BYD, the leading global electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has unveiled its latest entry into the crowded midsize SUV segment – the BYD Song Ultra EV. Priced starting at ₹20.72 lakh and boasting a claimed range of 710 kilometers on a single charge, this new model aims to compete with powerhouse brands like Tesla in India.
The BYD Song Ultra EV comes equipped with a sleek design and state-of-the-art technology. Available in four luxurious colors – Matter Gray, Ice Blue, Pearl White, and Obsidian Black – the SUV caters to diverse tastes. Its most notable feature is its ultra-fast charging capability, thanks to the second-generation Blade Battery 2.0 technology.
In terms of range, the BYD Song Ultra EV provides two options: the Leading variant with a range of 605 kilometers at ₹20.72 lakh and the Transcend variant offering 710 kilometers for ₹23.18 lakh. The top-of-the-line Excellence variant is priced at a premium at ₹24.54 lakh.
Design and Interior
With an imposing stature of 4,850 mm and 19-inch low-drag wheels, the BYD Song Ultra EV exudes a futuristic look with sleek LED headlamps. Inside, it's even more impressive. The interior features a 15.6-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, and a 26-inch head-up display, offering a luxurious driving experience.
The most unique feature is the "Bed Mode," which allows the complete folding of front and rear seats to form a flat surface of 1.8 meters, doubling as an extended comfort zone during long journeys.
