Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh – In a heartening example of bravery and quick thinking, local and marine police personnel recently saved 18-year-old Kummarigunta Karthik from peril in Vijayawada's Suryalanka Beach. On a typical Sunday morning at the popular coastal spot, powerful waves drew Karthik into deeper waters against his will around 7:00 A.M. Local authorities' swift response quickly turned tragedy to triumph when they swiftly donned life jackets and entered the roiling sea with life buoys to drag him back ashore.
Risking Safety for Lives
Despite the dangerous conditions, Baptala district's Superintendent of Police B. Umamaheshwar commended the heroic efforts that day by his personnel. "The quick actions by our team ensured a positive outcome," he said, emphasizing safety protocols and cautioning visitors to stick to safe areas after heavy surf alarms.
Bapatla District's beach safety measures, overseen by Umamaheshwar, reflect a broader commitment towards public well-being, especially during high-wave seasons.
