Hyderabad: At a pivotal meeting convened by BJP national president Nitin Nabin, the party's state leadership has charted a detailed roadmap for the upcoming elections in Telangana. The focus is on strengthening its organizational structure to vie more vigorously against the incumbent parties.
Nitin Nabin Guides BJP's Direction in Telangana
The meeting, held in Delhi, involved all state presidents and general secretaries of the organization. State president N. Ramchander Rao highlighted Nitin Nabin's comprehensive guidance for organizing and strategizing as they look towards forming a government.
Referring to recent successes in West Bengal, Assam, and Puducherry, the BJP leadership expressed confidence that similar victories could be achieved in Telangana. This strategic move comes with preparations already underway for participation in the formation day on Tuesday in New Delhi.
Paddy Procurement Issues Highlighted
In the context of paddy procurement, Ramchander Rao strongly criticized the current Congress administration in Telangana. He accused them of failing to honor election promises related to procuring farmers' produce, highlighting a significant delay this year compared to previous years.
Rao emphasized that while the Central government pays for paddy procurement, it is the state's duty to ensure timely collection and transportation. He pointed out that this year's procurement efforts have been delayed by nearly a month, leaving farmers' produce exposed to potential damage from unseasonal rains. Procurement centers are reportedly stocked with grain longer than usual, leading to potential spoilage.
BJP has launched its Rythu Gosha – BJP Bharosa program as part of addressing this issue. According to Rao, the program is instrumental in encouraging farmers and enabling better coordination for paddy collection. However, Congress ministers are accused by Rao of providing inconsistent procurement numbers.
